Is this cheating? Today, we're leaving the borders of the state of California, and travelling way down south, to the very bottom of California the land mass: in Baja California Sur.
It's called Land's End, because it is literally at the very southernmost tip of the California/Baja peninsula. Down, down, down south of the border is Cabo San Lucas and Land's End. We journeyed to Land's End this July, when our family took our first-ever cruise. (You can read all about our port stops here, and about life on the Carnival ship, here.)
As a native Californian, I thought it was pretty cool to see the actual southern tip of our region (don't forget, California proper was once part of Mexico, too. Thick lines on a human map, but it's all just one big chunk o' desert.)
So here you are: the end of California Sur.
Celebrity sea lion, posing for all the tour boats:
"If you don't see the Arc, then you don't see Cabo." Or so say the tour guides.
And finally, me with possibly the most epically bad vacation hair everrrr. (Hey, it was post-snorkeling.)
And there you have it: a California trip, down Mexico way.
Thanks for coming along! Come back for Day 13 of my 31 Trips in California series, when we'll ditch the kids for a couples getaway.
Don't miss a single trip: Head over to Day 1 for all the links, or Like me on Facebook.
